Red Pill, incels, or MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way)—an entire linguistic ensemble has emerged around the so-called “manosphere”—one that requires a deep immersion in digital worlds to fully grasp. The Manosphere refers to online networks that spread anti-feminist and fascist content across the vastness of the internet. The result includes fascist radicalization and misogynistic violence—both digitally and analogue. Works such as the recently released Netflix documentary “Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere” typically highlight internal perspectives of the men involved. The questions guiding this project are different: What effects does the Manosphere have on people who do not identify as members? (How) Can those affected create a space to discuss these impacts in both digital and analogue spaces? Students in the Expanded Museum Studies program are transforming the cafeteria (VZA) into a traditional Austrian pub where they bring these questions to the table.
