“Reveries of Collective Walkers (Vienna)” is an ambulatory collective reading performance that concludes a two-day workshop led by Uriel Orlow, exploring ways of communicating with and through plants, during which students co-created this Viennese iteration. While walking amongst plants participants are invited to read aloud to plants in a public garden. What might a plant like to hear? A site-specific, multi-lingual library features books, essays and poems which feature human-botanical entanglements and plants as protagonists. The addressees are the plants themselves—they love the CO2 emitted in the act of reading. This collective moment of reading creates a horizontal dialogue with the more than human world. Everybody is invited to tune in and out of different texts or spontaneously join in.
