A look at the students’ work reveals the Department of Painting and Animated Film as an image body: a carrier of internal and external images¹. The body functions simultaneously as container, author, and recipient. The department’s works are conceived as a unity—the big picture, a wide view, a variety of perspectives. Originally autonomous images enter into a network of correspondences with one another and take on a collective form. From the pictorial body as an occurrence between body and medium to the collective body as an intrinsically driven cosmos, the exhibition draws a frequency, a rhythm. ¹ Hans Belting, “Bild- Anthropologie: Entwürfe für eine Bildwissenschaft”, Wilhelm Fink Verlag, Munich, S. 19–20.
