In the language arts, everything gets discussed: Jelinek’s “Sleeping Beauty” is a threat hurtling toward us, chat groups speaking gibberish under the constant fire of our love, a dragonfly swarm of chapbooks buzzing in the library showcases. WATCH OUT, JENNY! Moving words, solos, and ensembles for a politics of alarm. THERE’S NOTHING THERE! Your perception, our public space. Voices archived until no one talks to you except that bot humming over there. But the language arts graduates have their word and come to the realization that the end in no way complements the beginning. LET’S BEGIN! During the festival, a wall of drawing paper will grow into the room, as Barbara Yelin‘s simultaneous comic book class creates Minute Portraits: Drawn Time.
