From the 25th to the 28th of June 2025, there will be a lot to see at the Angewandte! During these four days, the University of Applied Arts Vienna will present a wide range of artistic and scientific projects and graduation works, framed by a multidisciplinary programme. The Oskar Kokoschka Square will be closed to traffic and will become, for a few days, a meeting place, a stage, a place for the "Monuments of the Future".
Save-the-Date: Angewandte Festival 2025
Wednesday, 25 to Saturday, 28 June
Exhibitions daily from 11 am to 9 pm
With Monuments of the Future, Anab Jain and the students of Design Investigations transform the Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz into a place of unexpected encounters and invite visitors to reflect on pluralistic scenarios of the future and our active role in shaping them.
There will be a music program at Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz on the opening evening, Wednesday 25th June, and on Saturday 28th June.
Inauguration of the "Monuments of the Future" at the Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz (with sign language interpretation - ÖGS): 25 June, 5 pm
All exhibition contributions and the full programme will be available online by the middle of June.
Most exhibitions are open daily from 11 am to 9 pm in the central university buildings around Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz. Printed festival guides are available to help find a way around the buildings. These are provided for free at the Infopoint on Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz.

A multidisciplinary programme will accompany the exhibitions, reflecting the trans- and interdisciplinary nature of the Angewandte. The formats include a wide range of formats, including books, discourse, film, guided tours, interventions, readings, performances, sound, games and workshops. The workshops where many of the exhibited projects have been developed will also open their doors.
Sign language interpretation (Austrian sign language) will be provided for some of the events in the programme. Currently further inclusive mediation services are being developed. Guided tours of the exhibitions in the different departments will be offered every day of the festival, each with a different focus and several times a day. The full programme will be available online in mid-June.
During the festival, the majority of the graduation projects will be on display in the university buildings.
After the festival, the graduation projects of the summer semester will also be available for viewing at aaa.dieangewandte.at. The website showcases final year projects from all of the departments of the University and grows with each semester.
The festival is free and can be visited without registration. Individual tours and workshops have limited numbers, so we recommend registering in advance (these are marked with a note and link to register). We recommend that you start your visit at the Infopoint on Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz.
The Angewandte is striving to make access to the Angewandte graduation projects, and in particular the guided tours, more accessible. For information on the accessibility of the buildings and the inclusive programme (from mid-June), please visit Accessibility.
Please contact the festival team at angewandte.festival@uni-ak.ac.at if you have specific questions about visiting the festival or general questions about the Angewandte Festival. We are happy to help you plan your visit - in particular, we would ask school classes or larger groups to contact us in advance so that we can plan the trip accordingly.
We also welcome any feedback, suggestions or ideas about the festival!
The concept for this year's graphic design was developed by students from the Communication Design department. The design by Emma Jacobsen, Uma Vogl-Fernheim and Moritz Wizany shows analogue imprints of various objects that give an outlook of what will be on display at the festival. Together with Peter Kikl and Benjamin Knopper, they are responsible for the entire festival design.
Looking forward to the ‘unveiling’ of various exhibitions at the Angewandte Festival 2025!
